Zones Hockey

Hi,

on Thursday we had the Zones Hockey. We played our 3 games against Burnside, Windsor and St Pauls. First we played Windsor. Nogoals were scored in the first half, but, half way through the 2nd Rihana scored! The game ended 1-0 to us! The next game we played was against Burnside. Once again no goals were scored in the first half, but, in the 2nd Rihana and Charlie both scored a goal! But, in the last 5 minutes Burnside scored a goal. The game ended as 2-1. That was 2/2 wins and if we were to beat or draw with St Pauls we would go to the Canteburies. In the first 30 seconds they scored. Things wern't looking good, but, Emma luckily scored a goal. Before the end of the first half St Pauls scored again. It was 2-1 and in the second half they scored another goal. It ended 3-1 which ment that St Pauls would go through, but, we were still satisfied with our performance. St Pauls came first with 5 points, we came second with 4 points, Windsor got 3 points and I'm not sure were Burnside came. Today we voted for our players of the day and they were Charlie in first place, Rihana in 2nd and India Rose in 3rd. It was a great day.

The Poetry Contest

Today it was the poetry competition. I was one of the reciters for our class (room 25.) There were some great reciters. In the end for the Year 5's compettiton Chrissy Nugent from room 25 (the best class) did My Mum's a Vegetarian which was by Kenn Nesbit and she came 3rd, Max McInerney-Boon from room 26 did Boa Constrictor by Shel Silverstien and came 2nd, and I (Oliver Mercer-Beumelburg) from room 25 did I have to Write a Poem by Kenn Nesbit and came 1st!!! Anyway, for the Year 6's compettition Toby Norris from room 24 did Rugby (by him) and came 3rd equal with Barnabey Fowler-Balyth from room 22 recited Saint George and the Dragon (once again by himself.) In 2nd place was Joseph Conway in room 23 who recited Matilda the the Liar who got Burnt to Death by Shel Silverstien and Daniel Mathers (our head boy) from room 23 did The Jabberwocky by Lewis Carol. I thought that all the poems were really well done and all the practice that I did was definately worth it. I really enjoyed this morning.

Welcome

Hi, this is my blog. It's my first post today. We've been looking at diffrent types of backgrounds with Miss Woods. She's not normally our teacher, but she's pretty cool just like Mr Williams. I'm finding this really, really fun and I hope that it keeps just as fun. By for now guys, see you soon.
